Investing
Can I invest in Alpine-X today?
Yes! As part of our mission of inclusion, we’re making investment in Alpine-X and the future of snowsports open to everyone! We have launched a stock offering to the general public via the Republic platform, allowing everyone to participate in the growth of this exciting new concept in family/group resorts.
As an investor in the current offering, am I investing in Alpine-X as a whole or just the Fairfax Peak property?
The Class A Common Shares being sold in this offering are equity interests in Alpine X Inc. That entity is a development/management/operating company, and it owns our brand names, operating rights to branded resorts, and architectural/design elements for our indoor snowsports resorts. The entity also currently owns all of the equity in the Fairfax Peak resort, although that may change in the future as we raise additional equity capital to build that resort. As we announce additional locations, we expect to have an equity interest in each of those locations as well. So, your investment now gets you a piece of our brand and our resorts.
When I invest in the current offering, what type of instrument am I receiving?
Investors in this offering are purchasing shares of our Class A Common Stock.
Why do I need to provide so much personal information (for example, my social security number, address, etc.) to purchase your stock on Republic’s portal?
Your investment purchases shares of our Class A Common Stock, and it’s important that we maintain accurate information to document each one of our investors. This is critical for us to be compliant with our legal recordkeeping obligations, as well as providing accurate information to shareholders for tax purposes. Please know that Republic’s portal is very secure. Also, Republic’s operations are closely regulated by the SEC and other regulators, and those regulations require Republic to make sure each investor in any offering is verified fully. Alpine-X and Republic take privacy and security very seriously and we will always protect your investor information.
If I invested via Republic, when will I receive my perks?
Every investor is a Snow Mogul at Alpine-X, and entitiled to great perks that we listed out on our campaign page. We plan to begin fulfillment of all perks shortly after the conclusion of our offering (currently projected for January 2022). If that timing changes, we’ll send out a message to all Investors through Republic’s website.
Energy & Environment
How is Alpine-X addressing the environmental impact of building a facility this type and size?
Being environmentally sustainable is not only the right thing to do, but it is also a key part of our business model. Many existing indoor snowsports facilities are in Europe, where energy has historically been more expensive and “greener” technologies have been embraced sooner. We intend to incorporate much of that thinking in the design and operation of our resort, to ensure it is both environmentally and financially sustainable. For example, our goal is to use solar energy (and potentially other renewable sources) to generate as much power onsite as possible. In the event we are unable to generate 100% of our energy needs at our resort, we will look to purchase renewable energy that is generated off-site. These steps, coupled with advanced strategies in cooling technology, the newest insulation methods, novel heat capture and reuse, the utilization of gray water for various components of the facility (not for snow generation), and other strategies enable us to adhere to our commitment to being environmentally sustainable.
You‘re building your Fairfax Peak resort on a closed landfill. Don’t closed landfills continue to generate methane gas? How will you monitor/control that?
Our priority is always guest experience and guest safety. We want everyone to have a safe, fun experience at our resorts. The area of the landfill we plan to develop for our Fairfax Peak resort has been closed for quite some time – this means that the methane production has slowed considerably. In most areas of the landfill, very little methane gas is still produced. We’ll do regular testing and have sensors throughout our resort to ensure emissions or gas are not an issue. Also, Fairfax County will also continue to be the landowner of the landfill, so their team will work with us and government agencies to ensure the landfill is maintained properly and that it is safe for all of our guests.
